Open role Tango

Valérie started tango in Geneva in 2009 with Alejandro, and then with Mariela. Valérie discovered tango in Geneva in 2009 and continued her training in Buenos Aires from 2012, studying with numerous maestros while pursuing film studies. In 2019 she made a documentary on feminist movements in tango and explored open-role dancing within the queer community, gradually learning to lead.

Back in Geneva in 2022, where her relationship with the dance began, she joined Casitatango and Egalitango and launched "Tita Milonga" in tribute to the women of tango. There she highlights female artists (DJs, dancers, composers, singers, and musicians) as part of an effort to rebalance a scene long shaped by machismo. Since 2025 she has also begun DJing.

Now living between Buenos Aires and Geneva, she teaches a tango in which both roles actively dialogue to build each dance. Her all-level classes are open to everyone and prioritize improvisation and tools to sharpen listening to the body, the partner, and the music. The goal: to explore, in a relaxed, dynamic and playful way, a two-person conversation that reflects us and to gain freedom in the dance
